Sometimes my translator cannot translate because, instead of speaking Thai, many of the people living in small Thai villages speak Lao instead.
I have leaned one word in Lao... "Sap." This rhymes with "map." It means delicious and it is one of the most important words when traveling-- because if you keep the cooks happy, they keep you happy!
