The Friendship Bridge - Thai Side

Mr. Narong's grandson-in-law works for the border police.  He was kind enough to escort us to the border crossing station on the Thai side of the Me Kong River.  He informed us that we would need to use the bridge and bus system to cross both directions, because only Thai and Laotians are allowed to cross by boat in this area.

We were brought inside the station an quickly processed.

There was a lot of information about processing visas for people from other ASEAN countries, which allow special (and cheaper) admissions from country to country.

Then, we spent little time walking around the immigration station, including areas that I believe are off limits. The bridge and station are both beautiful, including some beautiful elephant statues.

Then, a bus came to drive us to the other side for our visit to Laos.
