Next, I head out for a walk to the Thai Red Cross Society, which wasn't too far from my hotel. Specifically, I was excited to Henri Dunant Road, which bordered the Red Cross facility. The story of his reaction to the Battle of Soferino and the creation of the Red Cross makes him a personal hero of mine.
On my walk back from the Red Cross to the park, I recognized my surroundings and realized I was right by the Montien Hotel, where I stayed last time I was in Bangkok. I walked over to have a look, which brought back some book memories.
After a quick stop at a 7-11 for some water (man, oh, man it was hot), I head to the Health Land Spa for a two hour Thai massage. If I lived in Bangkok, I would be tempted to visit Health Land daily. Thai massage is done clothed, usually wearing pants and a shirt provided by the spa. It is performed on a mat on the floor and the therapist usually uses their feet, elbows and head to assist in the process to provide the most therapeutic stretching to the client. After, you feel refreshed, but like you've both had massage and done yoga at the same time. This two hours sensational experience cost B500 (abut$16-17).
Finally, I had a chance to meet with Achara Wongsothorn, one of the professors who has started the school I will be staying at, as well as another professor she used to work with at Chulalongkorn University. It was wonderful meal with two very intelligent and accomplished women.
Now, I am headed to sleep-- as I will be leaving for the school in the morning.

Sawadee ka! I'm so glad that you arrived safe and sound and are now at the school. Enjoy your time in beautiful Thailand! We love your posts, so keep them coming!
