Evening Activity

One of my jobs while here at the school is to lead the evening activity.  This is for the boarding students, who are mostly in their last year.  I eat dinner at 7pm and the students come over to the "New House" at 8pm for about an hour and a half.

During this time we sing English songs like Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Are You Sleeping, and The Hokey Pokey-- although, the Hokey Pokey  is our newest song and I am not yet convinced it is what it is all about... the dancing was good, but the singing needs some work.  We will try it again tonight.

We have also been practicing a short skit in English about a lion and tiger fighting over a pond-- i am hoping they might have it memorized by the time Dr. Tony gets back on Tuesday night :)

For those of you who know me well, you will find the image of me belting out these songs humorous, as I am typically very self-conscious about my lack of any ability to sing...well, I got over it (at least in Thailnd).  Those of you who know me, however, will not be surprised by my continued dancing to lighten the mood during these songs-- it is like English and aerobics class mixed together.

I think there may be a cha cha slide in the future....

  1. Oh, how I wish I could be a mouse in the corner watching you sing and dance! Aren't you going to provide a little video?
