Good-bye party (party two)

After lunch, the good-bye celebration continued.

Because of the rain, we were not able to have the celebration on the newly made stage.  However, it should be noted that they did try to fix the sign from "Spacht" to "Specht" after Dr. Tony pointed out the issue-- just in case the sun came out.

The good-bye show included some traditional dancing, as well as the Cha-Cha Slide. Students also performed a few skits and read some poems I selected for them, including the very funny Shel Silverstein poem Boa Constrictor.  In addition, a few of the students from the primary school (that I've been working with) presented a speech and told a story.

At the closing, I was presented with a beautiful certificate honoring my time at the school.  It is in a wood frame, which is quite beautiful.  I was told that the original frame was more beautiful and special, but then they found out that the wood is protected and banned from entering the United States... man, it would have been a bummer to have it take at customs (they always seem to take something from my bag-- but not this time).  I was also given a gift of a beautiful scarf.

The amount of honoring was a little overwhelming, especially considering I feel I have received far more than I have given  while here.  However, there is one thing I know for sure-- this college and the people here will remain in my heart forever!
