I don't know if I shared this story with you or not. When Mom and I were in Thailand I skipped a tour one day and found I bike I could borrow and went for a photo trek.
I found a pond where there were lots of Lotus flowers and took several photos. As I was walking away three Thai girls (probably about 16) posed for me by a pond. I thanked them and walked away. A few minutes later they came up to me, bowed, and handed me a Lotus Flower bud. I thanked them and walked away while they smiled. As I walked away with a grin from ear to ear I remembered a story an airboat driver told us in the Everglades about a flower (like a Lotus) that was beautiful to look at, and smelled great, but often a deadly spider lived inside and bite (and killed) the person who smelled it.
Probably a urban tale but I threw the flower away. Later I found out it was a tribute to me and I felt bad.
Oh well!
Wish I was there to photography all the beautiful flowers and butterflies.
